Walden Guitars Launches New Acoustic Models at NAMM Summer Session 2005

Agoura Hills, CA (June 30, 2005) - Appointed as the U.S. distributor for Vestax at the beginning of the year, American Music & Sound (AM&S) will relaunch the CDX-05 to performance and scratch DJs at Summer NAMM 2005. The Vestax CDX-05 is a professional tabletop CD player, incorporating digital outputs and on-board digital effects, that brings the realistic feel of vinyl to CD-R/RW discs and MP3 files.

The single-disc unit is operated using a jog wheel for realistic scratching, pitch bending, rewinding and cueing. But for those DJs who prefer the feel of vinyl, the CDX-05 includes a Tascam(r) TT-Link(r) socket that allows the device's basic CD functions to be controlled from any turntable--such as a Vestax PDX series--using the optional TT-M1 accessory wheel.

For setups incorporating traditional turntables with the CDX-05, an on-board analog filter applies the warmth of vinyl to any CD or MP3 track, allowing DJs to seamlessly mix between any of the formats. Additional digital effects include flanger and delay, with beat synchronization. Using the independent 8-second sampler, DJs can layer loops over the track being played.

Performance functions include Master Tempo, which allows the DJ to adjust the tempo without altering pitch by +/-50 percent. Pitch may be adjusted over the range of +/-6, 10, 50 and 100 percent using the 100mm pitch control fader. There is an easy-to-read, white-on-black LCD readout.

A comprehensive cue system includes the ability to set up three hot cue points with instant playout. The CDX-05 can memorize track programs, cue points and loop points for up to 100 tracks.

Future proofing is assured with a firmware architecture that provides software updates to be loaded from CD-ROM. MSRP is $750.
