AM&S Debuts NetCIRA EtherSound Master/Slave Unit and Input Card at InfoComm 2005

Las Vegas, NV (June 13, 2005) -- At InfoComm 2005, American Music & Sound (AM&S), the exclusive U.S. distributor for NetCIRA(tm), a division of Fostex Japan, introduced the MS-88, a bi-directional version of the MS-8 Master/Slave rack, and the MI-6C balanced analog mic/line processor card option for the MS-8 and MS-88. NetCIRA produces network audio products compliant with IEEE 802.3x that utilize standard Ethernet 100baseTX switching and CAT5 cabling for the distribution of up to 64 channels of high-quality 24 bit/48kHz audio.

The rack-mounting NetCIRA MS-88 is capable of bi-directional operation, passing data both upstream and downstream. The unit may be placed in an automatic transmitter (master) or receiver (slave) configuration dependant on the interface card fitted, and may by assigned to transmit/receive in groups of 8-channel blocks from the front panel or via software.

Interface cards can be fitted to the front or rear depending on the application. Options include cards fitted for balanced or unbalanced analog line inputs or outputs, balanced microphone inputs, AES/EBU digital inputs or outputs and ADAT inputs or outputs.

Internal, external or digital word clock with input and output on BNC and 44.1kHz or 48kHz operation is selectable via DIP switches, with a security cover locking out unwanted tampering with the settings. An integral RS232 port facilitates external PC or 3rd party peripheral control.

The NetCIRA MI-6C balanced analog mic/line processor card is designed for PA, stage, logging and conference situations and allows various parameters, such as pad (mic/line), phantom power, phase, HPF, mute and gain, to be adjusted using the latest NetCIRA SET controlling software version (V1.02) on every channel. Two-color LED indicators next to each XLR input connector display the phantom power and pad settings. Using the latest NetCIRA SET controlling software, input signal level fed to all 8 inputs can be monitored on a tricolor bargraph LED meter.

NetCIRA Master/Slave units, receiver modules and speakers can be combined in an almost infinite number of ways to provide a distributed audio solution for any application. With the flexibility to add up to 63,000 receiver modules to a network, to insert audio anywhere on the network (with MS-88 bi-directional Master/Slave units) and the ability to increase the distance between devices by up to 2km using optical fiber, the applications for NetCIRA products are endless.
