Allen & Heath Adds VF-1 Filter to Xone DJ Products Range
Agoura Hills, CA (January 7, 2005) - At the NAMM Show 2005 at the Anaheim Convention Center (Booth #7019, January 20-23, 2005), Allen & Heath will show the company's VF-1 DJ Mixer Filter Module, a new product inspired by the company's award-winning Xone range of DJ mix products. A single rack-space, universal analog stereo filter intended for live and studio use, the VF-1 can interface with any mixer to create and manipulate sophisticated audio filtering.
The Xone VF-1 offers three basic 24dB/octave valve filter types: high-pass, band-pass and low-pass. The basic filter types can be combined to create further filter types such as 'notch.' It additionally offers MIDI capability, and also contains an envelope follower and an LFO with both triangle and square wave outputs.
A resonance control with automatic limiter circuits enables high levels of resonance to be used without causing the system to overload. One unique feature of the VF-1 module is the inclusion of valve overdrive circuitry, whereby a single control enables the user to dial-in an amount of valve "warmth" while maintaining a constant output level.
Allen & Heath will additionally be showing outboard options to enhance its flagship Xone:V6 audiophile rotary club mixer. The company, which has already launched a valve option card for the acclaimed Xone:V6, has since developed two add-on modules, the EQ Isolator and the V6 Crossfader unit.
The EQ module is a dual, 3-band stereo isolator to provide variable attenuation of Low, Mid and High frequencies. Any two channels may be assigned to the filters simultaneously, allowing two tracks to be seamlessly blended or montaged. The module, a 1U rack unit with six stereo inputs/outputs, connects to the Xone:V6 channel insert points and shares the
V6 power supply.
The Crossfader rack module adds crossfading capability to the Xone:V6, allowing the user to select any input to either side of the crossfader when required. Utilizing a Penny&Giles conductive plastic crossfader and high performance VCAs, the module interfaces with the Xone:V6 via channel insert points.
Further information on all these additions to the range can be found on the company's Xone products web site: www.xone.co.uk.
