Artist Profiles: Tim Nustad

“I’ve played piano since I was four years old. It's in my DNA. When I was seven my mom told me that my piano teacher was moving and would not be able to teach me anymore. My world stopped. I could barely choke out the words, "Does this mean I won’t be able to play the piano any more?” Mom said she would find another teacher. My heart started beating again. There is nothing like piano. And now I choose Nord.

I remember seeing bands using these cool red keyboards that sounded sweeter than others. Now I have two of my own (Electro 3, Wave) and realize they are more then their hot finish and cool sounds. Using the Wave has been a blast! It's surprising, yet predictable. Surprising because I'm creating sounds beyond my imagination. Predictable because translating my idea into sounds comes naturally.

One thing I love about Nord is their ever growing and improving sample libraries. The piano sample sizes continue to grow and new samples are added. So when you buy Nord, you're buying a product that isn't outdated the next day. It continues to grow and expand with time."

Tim was formerly playing synth/keys with Atlantic Records artist Camera Can’t Lie. Tim is currently composing a group of instrumental songs that he plans on releasing as an album early 2010. It's moody, emotional, and moving. The songs range from piano solo to small ensembles of acoustic and synth sounds.
