One thing that I did notice on the Stage 2 HA 88, other than the great new harpsichord sounds, is the new sustain pedal action. As opposed to sounding louder when you play a series of notes, like some other stage pianos, it just sustains, and that's great. I'm not afraid to sustain too many notes at once, resulting into playing with more emotion like on a real grand piano. That's a big plus. Furthermore, the latest Rhodes sounds are frighteningly close to the real deal. Oh, and the weighted hammer-action is just the way I like it. The Nord Stage is my main instrument.”

Ric’key Pageot is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer, and musical director, born and raised in Montreal, Canada presently living in Los Angeles. He comes from a musical family of Haitian descent. His parents initiated him to classical piano lessons at the tender age of eight and he went on to attain his bachelor degree in Jazz performance from Montreal’s McGill University. He became the youngest musical director ever hired by Cirque Du Soleil when he led the band on Cirque’s first arena production, Delirium, at the age of 28. It became the 6th highest grossing tour of 2006 reported by Billboard. Among the large band was his wife and sensational award-winning singer, Dessy Di Lauro.

In January 2008, they both moved to Los Angeles to follow their dreams and in April of that year, Ric’key got a call to go on the Sticky & Sweet World Tour with the iconic pop star, Madonna, as her keyboardist/pianist/accordionist. In 2012, Pageot got the call back go on the road with the Queen of Pop for her MDNA world tour where Pageot is featured on center-stage with Madge in an intimate classical waltz version of her 80’s hit ‘Like A Virgin’, using our own Stage 2 HA88 inside an upright piano shell, also seen on the official Live BluRay/DVD/CD.

After Pageot’s return home from the MDNA tour, Ric’key went straight to work on producing Dessy Di Lauro’s sophomore release, ‘This Is Neo-Ragtime’.  The Di Lauro and Pageot power couple have architected their own sound fusing 1930’s Harlem Renaissance ragtime/stride piano music with today’s contemporary urban music. The Revivalist/Okayplayer, an online journal for the burgeoning jazz community, wrote: ‘Integrating Pageot’s stride piano mentality of Fats Waller and Cab Calloway with the very modern vocal stylings of Di Lauro has proven to bring an incredible homage to the greats while still moving the music forward and bringing in new fans.’  ‘This Is Neo-Ragtime’ is available Here on iTunes

Pageot has also written and performed for Jill Scott (Missing You) and Earth Wind and Fire (Love is Law).

We are proud to have Ric’key Pageot in our roster of exceptional musicians using our products.
