New OS v2.01 with V.A.S.T. for PC3LE

New OS v2.01 with V.A.S.T. for PC3LEKurzweil Music Systems recently introduced a major operating system upgrade that added a number of exciting new features to Kurzweil’s PC3K, PC3, and PC3LE series keyboards including full V.A.S.T. editing for the PC3LE. OS v2.01 has just been released and follows up with further improvements.

With the OS upgrade, the PC3LE gives users access to the entire V.A.S.T. synthesis engine, with nearly the same level of programmability found in the PC3. ROM keymaps and samples can also be edited and saved. Version 2.01 adds improved effects management and enhancements to the user interface.

Demonstrating our commitment to non-obsolescence by design, the latest OS provides support for loading K Series programs (but not samples). Intelligent software in the LE works to match ROM samples in the LE that best correspond to K Series ROM samples.

“Throughout the PC3K, PC3, and PC3LE product lines, we have made it a point to enable backwards compatibility with our K series products," states Mike Papa, Kurzweil’s National Sales Manager. "The PC3K can load samples and programs from the K series, and the PC3 and PC3LE series products can load most programs from the K series. This kind of non-obsolescence by design is simply unheard of anywhere else in the industry. We're also very excited about allowing customers to have access to the powerful synthesizer that's under the PC3LE's hood. Customers asked for it, and in a matter of months, we responded. That's the difference with the Kurzweil brand."

It's worth noting that many of the PC3LE's new features are the direct result of feedback from customers. We firmly believe that the initial purchase of a keyboard should only be the beginning of an interactive, evolving relationship between our customers and our company. PC3LE OS V 2.01 is just one more sign of how important that relationship is to us.
